Active real estate investor and developer with strong focus on the Latin American and U.S. markets. Mr. Kawage’s professional career as a real estate, corporate finance and workouts attorney to different private equity funds, investment management companies and real estate developers in the US and Mexico gave him exposure to: private equity investments, cross-border loan origination and structuring, fund management advisory, due diligence and conflict resolutions. Mr. Kawage has an extensive knowledge in the Mexican, U.S. and Latin American real estate, private equity and asset-based lending markets and mechanisms.
Mr. Kawage successfully represented one of the largest American institutional investment funds in a $1.4 billion workout and restructuring process with two of Mexico’s largest homebuilders. He is and active developer, asset manager and investor in charge of a budget of over $20 million. Before his involvement as an active real estate professional, Mr. Kawage served as a corporate finance and real estate attorney for one of Mexico’s tier 1 law firms.
Mr. Kawage holds a Graduate Certificate in Real Estate Development from Schack School of Real Estate (New York University), a Graduate Certificate in New Business Creation and Development from ITAM (Mexico) and a J.D (Cum Laude) from Universidad Iberoamericana (Mexico). He is licensed to practice law in Mexico.

Mr. Viesca’s professional experience with different investment management companies in the US and Mexico gave him exposure to: private equity investments, portfolio management, origination and structuring of transactions, fund raising tasks and prospectus creation. Mr. Viesca has an extensive knowledge in the Mexican and US real estate, private equity and asset-based lending markets.
Mr. Viesca served as Managing Director at Alsis Funds, being responsible for leading the team in charge of origination, structuring, credit analysis, underwriting and execution of Real Estate investments of the firm. He was responsible of managing an annual $100 million new origination budget for real estate projects. Before being promoted as Managing Director, Mr. Viesca was Vice President of Origination and Structuring, actively involved in all aspects of the investment and fundraising activities of the firm, including comprehensive financial modeling and analysis, preparation of marketing materials and identification of strategic clients or partners. Responsible of deal origination, negotiation, presentation of Investment Committee Memorandums, transaction structuring and due diligence. He had an active participation in the successful closing of 3 new investment vehicles for total amount of $150 million complemented with a $50 million preferred financing from the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC).
Prior to joining Alsis Funds, he worked as a Relationship Manager at Prudential Real Estate Investors (PREI) for Latin America, where he was responsible for the relationship with one of the largest Joint Ventures of the company, handling property prospecting, investment and due diligence processes, asset management, property sales and rentals, as well as the monitoring of the assets of the partnership. He had an active participation in the negotiations several credit lines to provide the portfolio with resources for its development and construction. He was responsible for the financial analysis and underwriting for the acquisition and development of three projects totaling $250 million. Mr. Viesca holds an MBA and B.Sc. in Business Engineering from ITAM (Mexico). He passed the CFA Level I Exam in 2011.
